Bike Messengers
Icy roads never stop them.
Regardless of sub-zero temperatures,
torrential rain or wilting heat,
the outfit remains the same
ragged cut-off trousers, black
socks and bike shoes, a non-descript
jacket and a bike helmet
their messenger bags bulging with
documents, packages,
Perhaps today there is a
single rose tucked inside
awaiting delivery to
a client's secret lover.
