Gordon Conference Day 3: The life of a pollen grain in Carson's lab
it's a long fall down
from floating dreamily from one pine branch to another
under a blue sky, not a care in the world,
abruptly captured in a butterfly net
and pushed into a Ball Mason jar
for further study.
Surrounded by white men in white lab coats,
an assault on its freedom,
entrapment in super glue
attached to an AFM tip,
now dragging its lonely spikes
across unfriendly surfaces
all in the name of
science.
