a new year
a time for new beginnings

new ski poles
a new glide
I rejoice in their new love
their wide smiles and their embrace
this is the way it all begins.
they are starting a new life together
we lounge across each other in the old
comforts of many years,
both are lovely and to be celebrated
on bitterly cold mornings like this one,
we share our warmth.
