I've lost count
The country shrugs and moves on
The NRA talks about containing the mentally ill
And those with guns hug them close
Then go buy more ammo.
One never knows.
My friend worked a few blocks away
In this sleepy middle/upper middle bedroom community
It won't happen here
Until it does and as the country shrugs and moves on
You grieve your dead
Your life will never be the same
You will never lose count again.
