Merry Christmas in April?

I love the fresh snow on Christmas morning,
each snowflake sparkles in the sun like a movie star.
Each blade of drab brown grass stands tall
with its new hat of white glitter.
The presents under the tree have been tampered with,
I see the edges of the tape have been re-attached,
nothing escapes my keen eye as I mix
flour and sugar, admire the perfect peaks on
the beaten eggs whites, ah, Christmas waffles.
Christmas in April to celebrate new snow,
surely Thanksgiving is sure to follow soon.
