we can fly away from home
towards a new beginning, the sun glinting
off our newfound wings, stopping in fields
along the way, swimming and diving into
ponds never before discovered.
that is life, to leave home again,
to build a new nest, the best nest
soothed by the sound of the surf, the gentle
breezes that rock her to a restful sleep.
