square posts,
two foot high metal
kick plate, layers of screws
and counter screws.
he cursed in the hot
sun, sweating, his dog, Buddy, the
source of all this trouble,
basking in the sun beside
his master all afternoon,
what better reward for breaking
the gate than this?
