Halloween
In darkness,
her eerie smile lights the room.
It’s Halloween
morning.
Until that moment,
there was only
an unopened bag
of candy by the
door to mark the
day.
Now, at 6 a.m.
Halloween has arrived
as surely her eerie
smile lights
my day.
